Third Grade activites

Third Graders have been busy printing and learning about color! Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks!

fourth grade adventures this week

The fourth graders had some amazing adventures this week! Mr. Kerney's class toured the Robie House on Wednesday. It was really interesting to see one of the oldest houses in Hyde Park. Ms. Cortez' class walked around the Robie House and then walked to a grassy area across the street to sketch buildings. We also walked over to the Renaissance Society to see the AMAZING Gabriel Sierra show. If you haven't seen it, please do! It is fun, beautiful, and bizarre! It is up until June 28th.

Performance Art!

Last Friday, May 15th, we were lucky enough to have a visit from Performance Artist, Parvin Peyvandi. She comes from Iran/Vancouver and transformed our classroom for most of the day. Parvin wore a Persian Rug and invited students to sit on it around her. She led us through a meditation and then we all had a discussion about how this experience made us feel. It was completely wonderful and students really were impacted by the nature of the class. Thank you to Parvin for spreading her love for people, art, and all things beautiful to us!
